How do I crop my images to fit?

Siimple automatically center-crops images for you, but if you need to manually adjust here are our recommendations

Updated over 2 weeks ago

By default, Siimple automatically center-crops the stock images that you choose from the editor to fit in the layout that they are being inserted into. Most of the time, this results in a pretty good placement for both landscape and vertical images.

However, occasionally you might have a particular part of the image that you want to show. Here are two ways you can address that:

πŸŒ† Cropping Vertical Stock Images

If you are trying to use a stock photo that is vertical (tall), and place itinside of a horizontal (wide / landscape) area --- such as in the Offerings Section:

1. Download the image and then crop it into a horizontal size, keep the part you want in the middle.

2. Reupload it and it will look like the 'Renovations' item

🌁 Sizing your own images

If you would like to custom size and upload your own image:

  1. For wide images we recommend a 16:9 aspect ratio these include canvas sizes like (640 Γ— 360, 700 Γ— 394, 800 Γ— 450, 960 Γ— 540, 1024 Γ— 576, 1280 Γ— 720 etc)

You can use this template as a reference:

  2. For square images any 1:1 aspect ratio will do such as (480 Γ— 480, 600 Γ— 600
    800 Γ— 800, 1000 Γ— 1000, 1080 Γ— 1080)

πŸ’‘ The larger the image the better it will look on retina screens! So try to choose a higher resolution
