How to 'Soft Launch' Your Website

There are many benefits to launching your website sooner than later, even if it's not completely done yet.

Updated over a week ago

A 'soft launch' is a way to go live while your site is still in progress in order to begin building a strong online presence. Siimple makes this easy by allowing you to hide sections you are still working on while your site is live.

Benefits of Soft Launching Your Site

✅ Build Domain Authority

The longer you've had an active live site on your domain name, the more authority you build up in Google which helps people find you more easily in search.

✅ Show That Your Business is Active

A live site shows that your business is active and moving forward. It builds credibility and trust because people can see that you’re out there and serious about what you’re offering.

✅ Improve With Real Feedback

When your website is live, you can see which sections people are visiting, how long they’re staying, and what they’re clicking on. This kind of information is incredibly valuable because it allows you to adjust your content to better meet the needs and interests of your audience.

✅ Attract Your First Supporters

By launching your early site, you create an opportunity for these early adopters to engage with your brand, get excited about your offerings, and share their experience with others. These first supporters can give you feedback and create momentum for your business, making it easier to attract more visitors when you’re ready for a full launch

✅ Start Gaining Valuable Backlinks to Your Site

Having your site live, even if it’s not fully complete, opens the door for other websites to link to your content. These links, often called “backlinks,” are important because they help search engines see your site as more credible and trustworthy

✅ Make Sure Everything Runs Smoothly

Launching your site early allows you to test its performance in real-world conditions. This is crucial because it lets you identify and fix any issues before you attract a larger audience.

Follow these Steps to Soft Launch Your Siimple Site

  1. Setup your domain name (free or custom)

  2. Choose your colors and fonts

  3. Add your SEO image and info

  4. Edit the header section of your site and add a title, description and image (this could even be a coming soon message)

  5. Add any additional sections to your site that you have content for (such as social media links or an about section)

  6. Hide any sections that are still in progress by clicking on 'Hide' button that appears when you hover over any page section. This allows you to toggle off the visibility of that section on your published site. (You will still be able to see it and add content, but your visitors won't).

You can also hide a section from the edit panel

8. When you're finished hit Publish (you will need to have started a paid Siimple subscription to publish your site live).

9. Now you can finish any remaining sections as you find the time, toggle them on and hit publish again to push them live!
